SOFIA-104

The Sofia-104 loudspeaker features a distinctive and original design, setting it apart from
traditional 2- or 3-way speaker systems. Our goal was to engineer a loudspeaker that meets
the highest standards of true high-end sound reproduction — both technically and
musically.

One of the most complex aspects of loudspeaker design is achieving clean, natural bass
without sounding boomy or artificial. To address this, the Sofia-104 incorporates a total of
three woofers into a relatively compact floor-standing cabinet:

• Two 6.5″ aluminum cone woofers are mounted on the front panel.
• A 10″ woofer is located on one side of the cabinet (not powered).
• On the opposite side, a 10″ passive radiator with extremely high X-max (excursion capability) is installed.

This passive radiator design eliminates port noise while delivering tight, articulate, and
well-controlled bass.

For high-frequency reproduction, the speaker features two magnesium/aluminum tweeters
positioned between the front woofers in a quasi-coaxial configuration. These tweeters
handle frequencies up to 10,000 Hz, providing accurate and detailed sound.

To extend the frequency range even further, a super tweeter is mounted on top of the

cabinet. It includes a two-position switch that allows for high-frequency level adjustment:

– Neutral (0 dB)- +2 dB boost

This adjustment gives the listener the flexibility to tailor the treble response to their

preference or room acoustics.
